Yoga & Naturopathy Education And Research
(MAHARISHI PATANJALI INSTITUTE )
Yoga is an integral part of Ayurveda. Since 1982 the Dept of Swasthavritta of G.A. Mahavidyalaya was providing guidance regarding health maintenance through Yogic & Naturopathic processes. To further these activities a Dirghayu Kendra was established in October 1986 by the University. In January 1994 the University with the technical support of Kaivalyadham - Lonawala and partial financial support of UGC established a Yoga Kendra. Ultimately looking to the growing, interest of the people in drugless approach of therapies and magnitude of work this center was upgraded in 1995 as an autonomous organ of the University. At present this Institute receives partial financial grant from the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy, New Delhi.
This Institute is an autonomous self-financed organization of Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar, managed by the University through a Governing Body appointed by the University Syndicate.
Yoga Exercise
Infrastructure & Faculty -
This Institute has a separate building of its own.. The Institute has one Gymnasium furnished with various instruments for physical exercises. This Institute has been provided indoor admission facility of 20 patients in the Under Graduate Hospital. The Center has well qualified faculty of Yoga and Naturopathy

This Institute conducts following courses.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy (P.G.D.Y.N.)
  • Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy (D.Y.N.)
  • Diploma in Naturopathy and Yoga (Ayurveda) (D. Nat. &Yoga (Ayu))
  • Certificate course in Yoga e. Institute also carries out researches as a part of various courses and in the form of multifactorial research projects.
Extension Activities -
This Institute provides training facilities to general public in following form.
  • Institute conducts five Yogabhyas training classes per day for general public. This facility provides the best opportunity to the public of City.
  • Facility for the training of Yoga to the teacher and students of this University and other teaching institutions.
  • Institute has a Gymnasium with instrument for physical exercise.
  • Training camps, lectures, workshops, practical demonstrations are being organized for the orientation of these systems to general public.
  • Institute organizes various camps for popularization of this system.
  • Organizes various camps for personality development of children
Treatment -
Institute provides the treatment for various disorders through the Indoor and out door patient facilities. Treatment is provided mainly for psychosomatic diseases (Manas Roga), Asthma (Shwasa), Obesity (Sthaulya), Joint disorders (Sandhi Vikar), Diabetes mellitus (Madhumeha), Hypertension (Pravriddha Raktachapa). The center provides treatment through Yogic Practices, Naturopathy methods of treatment.
