Institute Of Medicinal Plant Science
With the growing interest in Ayurveda in recent past the scope of herbal products has increased in domestic and export market to great extent. In fact India has one of the unique biodiversity in the whole world. If these natural resources are managed in very ingenious manner India can become bigger exporter to the entire world, but it needs skilled technical persons possessing the knowledge on all aspects of medicinal plants. Considering the need of skilled technical manpower to meet the expected demand the Institute Of Medicinal Plant Sciences was established in the year 1999-2000 by Gujarat Ayurved University as a Self-Financed institute.
Faculty and Infrastructure -
The qualified faculty appointed for the purpose serves the Institute. Also the staff of I.P.G.T. & R.A. and some others also serve as faculty for this Institute.

The Institute is housed in a good building in the campus of the University. Various laboratories under I.P.G.T. & R.A. and medicinal plants gardens provide facility for practical work and their related studies on medicinal plants. Erection of Green House, Pond for aquatic plants and tissue culture lab is also underway.

This Institute conducts following courses.

  • M.Sc. (Master of Science) in Medicinal Plants.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Medicinal Plants and
  • Certificate Course In Identification, Cultivation, Collection, Storage & Preservation of Medicinal Plants.
